Container haulage is the road transport of ISO shipping containers between UK ports, rail terminals, and customer premises. Armour Transport operates a modern, Euro 6, Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) compliant fleet fitted with Direct Vision Standard (DVS) safety kits — meeting every requirement for central London delivery.
We collect containers — all standard ISO sizes — from Felixstowe, Southampton, London Gateway, and Tilbury. Our Essex base gives us fast turnaround on the Thames-side ports, and we run a regular service from Felixstowe and Southampton too, keeping your port free days intact and your demurrage costs at zero. Out-of-gauge (OOG) loads and hazardous (ADR / dangerous goods) containers can be organised on request.
Our 24/7 operation means we can respond to early morning gate openings, late arrivals, and emergency pickups. We confirm collection slots, communicate proactively when conditions change, and deliver to customer premises across the UK.
Collection and delivery process
- Submit a quote request with your port, container size, collection date, and delivery postcode.
- We respond within 2 hours, Monday to Friday — call us directly for same-day or out-of-hours bookings.
- Our driver collects from the port, following port gate procedures and your specific release instructions.
- Delivery is made to your premises or nominated depot, with proof of delivery confirmed.
- Empty container return arranged where required.
Container sizes and special loads
We transport Full Container Loads (FCL) in all standard ISO sizes:
- 20ft — suitable for heavier, denser cargo and shorter local movements.
- 40ft — the standard import container from Felixstowe, Southampton, London Gateway, and Tilbury.
- 45ft — high-cube pallet-wide containers common on European and Asia trade lanes.
Out-of-gauge (OOG) movements can be organised, and hazardous (ADR / dangerous goods) containers are covered on request — tell us the details at quote stage so we can confirm requirements and routing.
